Getting Started

“The person who removes a mountain begins by carrying small stones.”
– Chinese proverb

Beginning therapy can be anxiety-provoking for many people. Feelings of uncertainty, discomfort, and sometimes even stress MAY bubble up because you are not sure of what to expect...OR you may constantly ask yourself "if I actually go, what will this really mean? am I crazy?" While all of these feelings, and questions are normal they can sometimes paralyze you from actually taking this important first step.

Here at Moore Mental Health & Behavioral Services we want to help make this process as easy as possible for you by letting you know what to expect ahead of time:

First, you will need to setup an introductory consultation session by either phone call or schedule an appointment online. During your first in person session with your therapist, you all can talk about what you’d like to work on and treatment options that might be best. More importantly, you all can determine if you two are the best fit for one another.  Additionally, your therapist can answer any questions you might have about the therapy or testing process and provide you with additional information for getting started. The next couple of sessions will be used for relationship building and treatment planning. The rest of the sessions will be focused on addressing your unique needs and meeting your treatment goals in a safe, collaborative manner. Also, you have the added benefit of privately communicating with your therapist via our secure messaging and journaling online feature.

Please see our FAQs page for more information on this process or
